About the Recipe
To make the very best banana bread that comes out super moist, it is important to start out with those ugly, overripe bananas! They need to be a dark yellow with lots of browning. You can use bananas that are even darker than this! The riper the bananas, the more moist your bread will be and the more banana flavor it will have!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 Cup Banana, mashed
- 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
Preparation
1) Preheat oven to 350° F
2) Cream together butter and sugar until sugar is fully incorporated and the mixture doesn't appear grainy
3) Add eggs and vanilla mix for 1 1/2 minutes
4) Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl
5) Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients
6) Beat slowly until just combined
7) Add mashed banana and beat until combined
8) Pour into a bread pan that has been greased and floured
9) Bake for 1 hour until a toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean.
